Samantha Akkineni Bio: Samantha Ruth Prabhu/ Akkineni is a South Indian Actress. And famous for the blockbuster films like Ye Maya Chesave, Ranghasthalam and Makkhi.

Samantha was born on 28 April 1987 at Alappuzha, Kerala. Her parents were mixed cultures, her father is Telugu and Mothe is a Malayali. She had two elder brothers called Jonathan and David.

Samantha was brought up in Pallavaram in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Samantha was schooled at Holy Angels Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School and then completed a degree in commerce at Stella Maris College, Chennai.

Samantha also runs an NGO and involved in philanthropic activities and donates her earnings from endorsements, product launches and inauguration events to her charitable trust, Pratyusha Support, which was registered in 2012.

Samantha is also stood up for the cause of Handloom people of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states by wearing them and making photoshoots for handloom made sarees and other items. In 2017, she was appointed as the ambassador for Telangana Handlooms by the government of Telangana and currently works to promote handloom textiles in the state of Telangana.

While pursuing Commerce degree she started making modelling and got a chance to act in the film. She debuted with Gautham Menon’s Telugu film, Ye Maaya Chesave (2010). The film got hit and she won the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actress and a Nandi Award. She did another film called Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010) simultaneously. She got Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actress for her performances in the 2012 films Neethaane En Ponvasantham and Eega.

Later, she acted in many films but the main ones are Dookudu along with Mahesh Babu which become blockbuster and commercially successful, followed by S. S. Rajamouli’s live-action Telugu-Tamil bilingual project Eega (2012).

Her Next Project was Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu (2012), Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (2012). But the big ones were in 2013 when she acted in  Attarintiki Daredi (2013) and won many awards also.

In 2014, she gave many blockbusters like Tamil film Kaththi (2014) and Manam, S/O Satyamurthy.In 2016 she acted in many big films like the Theri, 24, A AA, Brahmotsavam and Janatha Garage.

After marriage in 2017, she gave Mersal followed by the blockbuster in 2018 like Rangasthalam, Mahanati and Irumbu Thirai. Recently in 2019 she also acted in Super Deluxe and Majili.
